Regular Season Round 21: V.Knasiaus - Liepaja 88-78

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked LithuanianV.Knasiaus (3-1) defeated 20th ranked Latvian Liepaja (2-6) 88-78 on Sunday. Liepaja was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 30-19 charge of V.Knasiaus, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 30 Liepaja turnovers and had a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Justas Juskevicius nailed 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and Rustamas Kundreckas accounted for 18 points and 4 steals. Emils Steckis came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and Jekabs Ivanovskis added 6 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Liepaja in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. V.Knasiaus moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Liepaja dropped to the 58th position with six games lost. They share it with 8 other teams.
